Tale of Two Cities

Joan and I decided to try the Spokane fireworks. The parking was a breeze and the flow of the traffic leaving the area afterwards was smooth and quick. It actually took longer to get out of the parking lot than it did out of town. We finally decided to use the 'Exit' that everyone else seemed to insist on passing by and we where off and moving.

The difference in the demographics of the people at the Spokane park versus the people in Coeur d'Alene was quite striking. It explains why so many Spokanites come to Cda to watch the fireworks. I will leave it at that. However, I did learn that the signs posted at the park, that stated  'No Dogs', don't mean what I understood them to mean. Until then I had not been aware that 'No Dogs' is a particular breed of dog. Next time I get a dog, I am going to get a 'No Dog'.  They are permitted to go places where other breeds of dogs are not permitted to go.

The Spokane fireworks were very good. From where we were sitting, on the grass listening to the Spokane Jazz Orchestra and the two soloists that sang with them, the fireworks exploded literally right above our heads.

When I lived in Spokane I really enjoyed the fireworks there. The last time that I was there, my kids, my mother, and I were sitting on the grass when the automatic sprinklers accidentally went off. All of us got soaked, but it was fun anyway.
