Records

Records, well not including criminal records I guess, are meant to be broken. This benchmarks help people work to reach goals.

I remember being told by a person several years ago that he and his family worked with is brother, who is six years younger than him, for six long and exhaustive years to break my discuss record. After six years the younger brother was successful.

Last year I broke the Kebo Family Record for a Whitetail Buck rack. Jr. had it. Well, it didn't take six years but after working his butt off this year hunting he broke my record with one shot at a running buck at 200 yards. I am very proud of his accomplishment, because he worked hard for it. Of course it 'ruined' my day....but if I get a green brief done in time I will have one more day of rifle season and a couple days during archery season to return the favor.

I will also say that after he fired his shot he was concerned that he might of missed it and so he had to conduct a 'grid search' of a large area to verify whether or not he had hit it. After an exhausting search of the large area, as darkness was falling and he was just about to give up, he found his trophy. He told me that he remembered what I taught him...if you shot an animal you have the responsibility to conduct a thorough and exhaustive search to verify whether or not you hit it. That he remembered that makes me prouder than his harvesting a new record.

Ha! Thanks, but it never bothered me because records are made to be broke. Besides, I took it from my brother! Ha! Now, the one that really troubles me because I hear about it EVERY SINGLE DAY is the Whitetail Buck Antler record for the Kebo family! That is torture!

Yes, records are broken, but there are some that I wish were never broken, like Ruth's home run record, both all time and season.

Was Sandy proud or did he give you a hard time? Bet he was proud.

As far as the antler record, well, you still have a chance, right?

And in addition he still maintains the record for falling out of the top bunk at a hunting camp
